Child Family Health International Becomes New  Home  for the Community-Based Global Learning Collaborative

Child Family Health International (CFHI) and the Community-Based Global Learning Collaborative (the Collaborative) are proud to announce that CFHI has been selected as the new fiscal sponsor and institutional home for the Collaborative, effective July 1, 2025. This strategic partnership brings together two leading organizations committed to ethical, community-centered global engagement and transformative education.

The Collaborative is a respected network of educational institutions and community organizations advancing community-based global learning and research. It is known for its pioneering work developing the Fair Trade Learning Principles, The Global Solidarity and Local Actions Toolkit,  and the Global Engagement Survey (GES), resources and frameworks that help reshape global education as a tool for meaningful, lasting change, one that prioritizes justice and the well-being of all communities involved. CFHI has been a long-standing member and leader within the Collaborative, integrating its tools and principles across its award-winning global health portfolio.

“This is more than a hosting arrangement; it’s a shared commitment to equity, ethical partnerships, and building a more just and inclusive future through global learning,” said Robin Young, Executive Director of CFHI. “We are honored to support and steward the Collaborative into its next phase of growth and reach. Our goal is to ensure the Collaborative can continue its impacts with operations uninterrupted, while simultaneously pursuing shared research, thought leadership, and more.”

Samantha Brandauer, Collaborative Co-Director, shared this reflection: “We are excited for this new mission-aligned, strategic alliance.  It signals the importance of our shared work, strengthens our commitments to building just, inclusive, and sustainable communities through global learning, and allows both organizations to innovate and flourish together.”

Collaborative co-director Sarah Stanlick added, “we are grateful for the record of strong sponsorship the Collaborative has enjoyed, most recently with the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship at Haverford College. This new partnership with CFHI allows us to amplify our efforts to scale ethical, intentional global learning through curricula and programs within higher education and beyond.”

CFHI has a strong record of acting as a fiscal host for global education initiatives, including its prior incubation of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). This new partnership continues that legacy and offers opportunities for both organizations to deepen their community-based global education.
